ah! school!

eep! *sigh* School's started, obviously that means more work less play. Our timetables are horrible, these ugly gigantic gaps between classes opening up like the maw of some great ancient dinosaur, just waiting to swallow us up in its endless chasm of boredom. -.-

So this past 2 weeks is busier then most, in a way i dun't like to describe, what with all the project stuff, and other work. This is Year 2, so apparently the tutors decided not to "spoon-feed" us , which resulted in the simple but complicated matter of figuring out where our tutorials and practicals are, whereas last year, they printed it out for us, included in the lecture notes.

Pretty dissapointed in the project. I thought it'll be some sort of free-style work, with proper planning and stuff, without restrictions to what we have to do (except for consulting the tutor as to whether the plan is ridiculous). *sigh* no, our project entails us to ... what? make a Library System, and somehow innovate on such a boring system. What hasn't the National Library done? bleh, i was hoping to make a game.

Pretty much finalized the deck i'm playing. Magic is a way to pass time in the above mentioned "chasms of boredom", so i had to make something... interesting. Boros Deck Wins, in a multiplayer environment, is pretty interesting =P. wish i had more Lightning Helixes tho =(

its crashing around us!

looks like the new hosting i got can support the day to day downloading of the images (though its only a few, they're quite large =/) still working on the left navigation.. just cant get it to look right! I might just take the image map down and just go with text links -.-

okays, this week went pretty exciting, or at least the end of it. got myself Oblivion and started screwing around to squeeze every single bit of power out of my PC. turns out it can run it pretty well if everything was set to low. i refuse to turn down the view distances (imagine looking at sentosa, then imagine it suddenly vanishing as if it never existed) so my frame rates stutter when i go out of a city. but indoors, as long as theres no friggin huge light source creating hundreds of shadows (fuk the Mage's Guild), i do a fine 25-35 fps :).

school starts in a week, and.. i still cant get my timetable... whats up with that!? i cant get my notes without my timetables! more importantly, i cant play with C++ without my notes! i'm such a geek. :P

new design =D

yay! another design update in a long long time. Please post your comments on my tagboard ^^. I'm happy with the overall look, black and white simplicity (dunno.. i like dual color sites more then flashy rainbows) but the navigation column on the right needs some reworking =/ it feels.. I dunno.. too small? I'll work something out in the coming week.

Anyway, i've got 2 new games, GalCiv II and Freelancer. GalCiv is a very very interesting science fic Turn Based strategy game, though it spends too much time pressing the turn button to really hook me. Freelancer is a Sci-Fi simulator/rpg. I like it alot, and the campaign keeps you on your toes. The only complaint i have is that there are no Capital ships for me to fly. boo. I wanna pilot something the size of a Star Destroyer. (You can in EVE, but i cant support monthlies.)

As for how my life is now since the last post, its pretty good, considering i just went for Ice Age 2 this afternoon with some friends. My unstable pocket money is getting on my nerves tho, and my parents keep pestering me not to stay at home all day. I need money for travel people >_<. Some people will say i should feel lucky i even HAVE pocket money, but heck its really irritating. Been reading some books on C++ lately, but turns out everything just looks so similar to Java. I'm stuck on "pointers" though, can someone msg and explain what in the world that is? Thanks =D. I basically get how to use them, i just dont get the point of using it. lols

I'm pretty hyped about starting school again, Stage 2 sounds way more fun then Stage 1 was, especially in terms of projects =D. Do hope i get good teamates this year.

Ah well... looks like i've ranted quite a bit. Its 1.50 am on my PC clock, really should get to sleep. Cya all ^^ (btw Ying2: that YouTube hookup on your site? *awesome* =])
