of the internet, and Naruto

have you guys heard? In the US thousands suddenly find themselves unable to connect to many of the websites of the internet yesterday. It may not matter to us in Singapore yet, but such things *may* become more common as time wears on. Heres the situation: 2 big companies, CogentCo. and Level3 in the US are having a row right now, and Level3 (imho, childishly) partitioned its part of the internet away from CC. So now customers of the 2 cant connect to each other.

We may not know it (i didnt until i read a recent article), but the Internet's backbone is made up of a few large companies providing net bandwith. I do hope this kind of thing doesnt spread to the extent where the Internet is broken into fragments and partitions, only to be connected on the whims of companies. this is the kind of time where i feel a super-sized coorparation (such as, microsoft) taking over the internet is best for the survival of the web.

on a side not, the latest manga of Naruto totally rawks. even tho theres not much action =3
